Staying on Purpose
As a student of Peak Potentials' courses and camps, you no doubt have a sound understanding of the principles of manifestation.
The formula is simple: Articulate your goals, strategically design your plan, and then take action.
But when distractions and obstacles occur, maintaining momentum can be tricky. So even though you've done everything possible to kick-start the process, you still need to know how to stay on purpose.
Do you think you know how?
This month, we're going to do a little myth busting on what it really takes to stay on course.
Myth #1: When it comes to goals, the end result must be clearly detailed and unchangeable.
Reality: Nothing is cast in stone. No one can possibly know the final outcome of anything. Once you create your vision, your job is to be true to the essence of your goals.
Let go of any rigid expectations. Instead, move forward with positive expectancy.
If we hold the end result in our mind with an iron grip, we struggle to maintain and may miss some key opportunities that weren’t in our original game-plan.
Oprah Winfrey summed it up best: “God can dream a bigger dream for you... far beyond anything you could ever imagine”.
This is good news.
Myth #2: You have to follow one direct path to any goal. (And never, ever stray…)
Reality: Expecting delays, roadblocks, challenges and interruptions on the journey will actually help you to stay on purpose because you won’t waste energy resisting things you can’t control.
Think of a flight trajectory. Even when a flight path is laid out, the pilot has to correct the course continually before it reaches its destination. You never know what winds or weather you will encounter so you have to be prepared to “zig-zag” on your path…a bit.
With non-resistance you can create and maintain momentum. Welcome divergent paths when they present themselves. They may provide better options than you originally chose.
Myth #3: You have to go it alone.
Reality: John Donne said: “No man is an island.” We would add: “Nobody is a self-contained, omnipresent, infinitely energized unit (who never, ever screws up!).
When you have passion and work with determination to attain your goals, you may feel as if you are fighting the good fight and all depends on you and you alone. But let’s face it: behind every success story is a cadre of supporters. Every star player has their coach, their cheering section, and the people who let them think it’s all about them.
Let people share your dreams, your struggles and your success. Incorporate the support of others. (Sometimes…it is all about you!)
The (real) Steps to Success
It has been noted by more than one successful person that the joy of the journey lies in the “getting there,” rather than in the “got there.” Besides, “got there” is only a step away from “been there.” Next stop: “done that.”
So have fun and be patient. Manifesting a reality that matches your vision is a natural process. Visualize the best outcomes, be flexible and trust the process.
If you are willing to hit the occasional plateau (or valley) on the journey to your chosen peak, you will get where you’re going. Stay open to opportunities, accept help when it's graciously offered, and you cannot help but reach your goals.
Remember: The key to the process of manifestation is joy. So enjoy the journey!
